FAQs

What does OEM mean?

OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. These manufacturers produce the replacement ink or toner for copiers or printers and normally will put the manufacturer's name on the product, such as Canon, IBM, Sharp, Lexmark, Brother, Epson, etc.

What is PRINTO compatible ink cartridge?

"PRINTO" compatible cartridges are specially manufactured under ISO 9001 standards to meet or exceed OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications and high standards of quality and reliability and offer high-quality printing results. Manufactured 100% brand new, containing only new components, they are an economical alternative to expensive name-brand cartridges and supplies, and allow for big savings over brand-name cartridges and supplies.

What is a remanufactured cartridge?

Remanufactured cartridges have been recycled to meet or exceed OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. The recycling and reprocessing process involves disassembling, inspecting, cleaning, replacing worn parts, reassembling, and filling the toner or ink. Once the remanufacturing process is complete, the cartridge is then print tested, sealed, and packaged for resale.

Will using compatible cartridge void the warranty of my printer?

No. According to the Australian Trade Practices Act, it is illegal for a printer manufacturer to require the consumer to use a particular brand of supply.

How should I handle my cartridge?

Never touch the electronic print head with any abrasive material. Use care when setting your cartridges down and do not place the print head in contact with any surface besides the printer. Avoid touching the cartridge's contacts as they can become corroded from the acids and salts on the skin.

Does PRINTO ink cartridge last as long as the original?

PRINTO ink cartridge has print life which lasts as long as the corresponding original cartridge.

Is PRINTO ink exactly the same as the original manufacturer's ink?

PRINTO ink is specially formulated to deliver a result as close as possible to the original manufacturer's ink. However, the ink is not the same.

Is the print result comparable to that of an OEM cartridge?

Yes, PRINTO produces very similar print result to the original ink. Some customers said our print is even better than OEM.

Why isn't there a PRINTO cartridge for Canon BC-02, BC-05 and BC-20 original cartridges?

A print head is built into these cartridges which are patented by Canon. It is against the law for PRINTO to reproduce them.

Can I remove the cartridge before it becomes empty?

Epson Cartridges should not be removed after their installation before they are empty, as this will often cause an air lock, which prevents the cartridge from functioning properly.
